FAQs
When should I start?
As early as possible, after your 1st trimester of pregnancy, for this gives the maximum time to strengthen your practice of deep relaxation and HypnoBirthing® techniques.
What about a weekend course?
Marie Mongan, creator of HypnoBirthing®, strongly opposes weekend HypnoBirthing® courses and advocates for participation in five 2.5-hour or six, 2-hour classes for maximum support by your Certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator, and to avoid overload of information! You don’t rush a baby’s development ‘within’ and your pregnan cy, why rush through your HypnoBirthing® birthing preparation course?
What if I just found HypnoBirthing® and my birthing date/time is one month or less away?
There are special circumstances when a couple is too close to their birthing time to accommodate five or six classes or are from out of town (long distance). In these events each pregnancy and time remaining, until the estimated birthing date, is assessed individually in order to choose a schedule best suited to the couple.
Who can be my birthing companion?
Anyone! Most couples choose to have their husband, partner, spouse but others choose their doula, sister, mother, best friend, or another.
What if my birthing companion can not make it to all the classes or any of the classes?
Not a problem. You will simply share all the material from the class with your birthing companion.
What about pricing? Seems like there is a price difference between some of the HypnoBirthing® Educators? Who should I go to?
Yes, there are a few differences in pricing. The best recommendation is to interview them and go with the HypnoBirthing® Educator that you connect best with (you are with them for 12-hours). If price is a concern with the one you want to be with, discuss your financial concerns with them. Sometimes they have payment plans or options that you haven’t considered!
